Visiting Benalmadena during the busy summer months – July & August – can be stressful. Too many people, too much traffic, too many queues, it’s too hot… stress!

However, if you’re willing to hold off on your holiday plans until September, the panorama changes… drastically!

September is probably one of the best times of year to visit Benalmadena. Although it’s still busy, kids are back at school and Spanish travellers (who usually holiday in August) are back at work. You’ll also find that flights and accommodation are considerably cheaper and the weather is still fantastic; lots of sunshine but not as stiflingly hot as July and August.

Kids Get to Enjoy Benalmadena’s Top Attractions for Free This Summer

This summer, kids under the age of 12 who visit Benalmadena with their parents will be able to enjoy visiting the resort’s top leisure attractions for free! 

Benalmadena Town Council and many of the city’s tourism community have joined forces to launch this fantastic campaign which means that kids won’t have to pay this summer when they visit their favourite tourist spots (see a list of the free* attractions below).

*Conditions apply : Each park or attraction has their own conditions and offers, which are subject to change and date restrictions. You will find more information through the Benalmadena Tourism website (link at bottom of page), and in turn the page of each supplier. Crocodile Park: Home to ‘Paco’ the 600 Kg Monster Croc!

Crocodile Park in TorremolinosOne of the most popular places to visit in the Benalmadena/Torremolinos area is the Crocodile Park. If you’ve got kids and are looking for a fun day out, you’ll definitely want to add this one to your to-do list!

Located next to the popular water park in Torremolinos, the Crocodile Park is home to more than 200 crocodiles, including ‘Paco’(also known as Big Daddy), a 600 kg monster croc!

The visit to the park lasts approximately 2 hours and includes guided tours and live demonstrations. Watching ‘Paco’ at feeding time must be quite a spectacle 🙂 The Park’s experienced guides show you how they handle these fascinating creatures and explain the intricate details of the croc’s lifestyle. 6 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Benalmadena’s Bil-Bil Castle

Bil-Bil Castle in BenalmadenaBil-Bil Castle is one of Benalmadena’s most iconic landmarks and one of the most popular attractions for visitors who choose to spend their holidays here.

Located on the promenade just a 10-minute walk from Sunset Beach Club, this Moorish-looking building isn’t really a castle. Although it looks like it was built centuries ago, nothing could be further from the truth.
