Puerto Marina, Benalmadena
This year (2015) Benalmadena Marina – also known as Puerto Marina – is set to become the port with the most varied leisure and entertainment programme in all Andalucia.
Benalmadena Town Hall and the Association of Business Owners in the Marina have put together a new plan to energize the Marina and turn it into a true theme park. To fulfil this challenging objective, they’ve organised a large number of activities and events to take place during the spring and autumn seasons, activities which all have one clear theme: The sea!
The events programme for 2015 features more than 50 fun activities including circus acts, themed parties, theatre, talent shows, open air cinema, a fair dedicated to foreign cultures, animation and lots more!
This new initiative will help promote Benalmadena as a fun and family friendly destination during the quieter spring and autumn months. According to the councillor in charge of tourism, Adolfo Fernández, the varied programme of events will take place, primarily, during the spring months (although they’ll start at the end of winter) and will also include interesting activities during the pre and post high season months of June and September.
As from the 28th February, the date chosen to launch this fantastic initiative, Benalmadena locals and visitors will be able to enjoy events and activities like these:
- Seafood Fair
- Olive Oil Fair
- ‘Minichef’, an initiative which will take place during the Olive Oil fair and which will give kids the opportunity to learn and demonstrate their culinary skills.
- ‘The Big Show’ talent competition.
- ‘Legends of the Sea’ pirate show.
- ‘Benalfest’ music festival.
- International culture fair which, each month, will feature a different country.
- ‘Urban Sketchers’ drawing competition.
- Open air cinema.
- Theatre shows.
- International dance show.
- ‘Festival of the Seven Seas’
- Circus acts.
- ‘Terror Port’ party.
- Fast-painting competition.
With all these fun, family-friendly activities planned for this year, Puerto Marina is sure to be a ‘required stop’ during your next visit to Benalmádena!
