Do you want to save up to 70% on your next flight to Málaga?
According to Kayak, one of the world’s most popular travel search engines, it’s possible to do. The British version of the site Kayak.co.uk recently analysed data from more than a billion – yes, one billion! – searches on their site and revealed some interesting results about the best time for brits (although we’re sure it’ll work for our Irish guests too) to book travel to the top 10 European destinations per season for 2016.
You’ll find all their results revealed on the detailed infographics we’ve linked to at the bottom of this post. However, we’re – obviously – only interested in the results for travellers flying to Málaga, which, incidentally, is just 20 minutes’ drive from Sunset Beach Club 🙂
So we’ve gone ahead and put together our own small infographic detailing all the important information you need to grab the best bargains when booking your flight to Málaga.
The figures included in the infographic all relate to three key aspects of booking your flights: How far in advance you book, the time of day you book and the days of the week you choose to travel. Putting together the right combination could lead to those impressive savings of up to 70%!
Here’s a quick summary of the information about flying to Málaga and the best times to book (by season):
Travelling in Spring
- Best hour to book: 11:00am. You can save up to 66% compared to the most expensive hour
- When to book: 8 months in advance! This could earn you savings of up to 53% compared to the most expensive month to book.
- When to travel: The best day for departure is Tuesday and the return Wednesday.
Travelling in Summer
- Best hour to book: 4:00am!!!! That’s the bad news… the good news is you can save up to 42% compared to the most expensive hour
- When to book: 7 months in advance! This could save you up to 35% compared to the most expensive month to book.
- When to travel: The best day for departure is Thursday and the return Monday.
Travelling in Autumn
- Best hour to book: 9:00pm. Booking just before the nine o’clock news means you could save up to 28% compared to the most expensive hour
- When to book: 11 months in advance! You need to plan well in advanced for these flights but you could save up to 33% compared to the most expensive month to book.
- When to travel: The best day for departure is Wednesday and the return is also a Wednesday.
Travelling in Winter
Unfortunately, Kayak’s report and figures don’t include Málaga as a winter destination L A big mistake as there’s hundreds of fun and exciting things to do in Málaga and the surrounding towns and cities during the winter months, including some of the best cultural sightseeing in Spain.
That being said, the team at Kayak does shed a little light on booking for Winter Holidays … apparently winter is the only season where some of the best deals and prices are found close to departure. The best hour to book is 3:00pm which could save you up to 56% compared to the most expensive hour.
Obviously the above figures are all based on Kayak.co.uk’s data, but hey, a billion flight searches is a pretty good sample size so it’s definitely worth trying some of their recommendations next time you book your flights to Málaga. You’ll have more money to spend at the bar when you stay with us at Sunset Beach Club 😉
Let us know how you get on.
