On Friday 8th April 2016 we’re delighted to be hosting, what we hope, will be the charity event of the year, our ‘Concert for the Kids’ featuring two of the Coast’s most popular entertainers: Johnny G. and Ricky Lavazza!
As two of our resident performers here at Sunset Beach Club, Johnny and Ricky have agreed to help us raise funds for our ‘Sunset Breaks’ charity initiative which we started in 2014.
For the past 2 years, together with the help of the generous guests who choose our hotel for their holidays, we have been collecting funds which go towards creating special memories for children who are battling serious illness.
We’ve chosen to support three such charities: Make-A-Wish® Spain, Barretstown and Debra Spain. For those who are interested, we’ve included a little information about each of these amazing charities at the end of this blog post.
The concert will take place in our Moonlight Theatre with the doors opening at 8:30pm and the show starting at 9:00pm.
Ricky and Johnny will be presenting a superb show featuring hits from the greatest music legends of our time including: Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, Freddy Mercury, Rod Stewart and many more!
During the show you’ll have the chance to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win some fabulous prizes including weekends away for 2 people, dinners, beauty treatments and more!
Please come and help us support these worthy charities and enjoy a spectacular show. 100% of the entrance ticket sales and the raffle ticket sales will be donated to these very worthy causes!
Ticket are only 10€ and are available at the Sunset Beach Club Leisure Desk which is open daily (Sunday to Friday) from 10:00am to 6:00pm. You can also call Sandra on 670 766 855 (Fuengirola/Mijas area) or Joanne on 695 887 366 (Benalmádena/Torremolinos area).
A little information about the three charities we are supporting:
Butterfly Children Charity (DEBRA Spain)
The Butterfly Children Charity helps children with EB, a condition which makes skin as fragile as a butterfly wing. EB sufferers require painful daily wound care routines and parents are generally the sole carers.
DEBRA Spain provides families a once in a life time holiday by providing a home from home in Marbella with specialised nursing care which gives parents the opportunity to experience a true respite from this devastating condition.
Barretstown
Founded in 1994 by Hollywood actor, Paul Newman, Barretstown (located in Co. Kildare, Ireland) is a unique camp that provides medically endorsed residential programmes of therapeutic recreation for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Children come free of charge from all over Europe.
Make-A-Wish® Spain
Make-A-Wish® Spain grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life threatening medical conditions. These once in a lifetime experiences provide them with the strength to keep on with the necessary medical treatments that can help them defeat their diseases.
Thank you for your support and we hope to see many of you at ‘Concert for the Kids’ on Friday 8th April 2016.
