The skies of Malaga will be full of colour the weekend of the 29th & 30th April for the city’s first International Kite Festival.
This stunning visual spectacle will take place on the beaches of El Palo and Pedregalejo, on the eastern side of the city and promises to be a fun weekend for locals and visitors alike.
The event is completely free for spectators to enjoy – although you may wish to splash out on a few sardines and cold beers in one of the fabulous local ‘chiringuitos’ 😊. You’ll be treated to stunning displays from classic kite flyers as well as acrobatics, aerial tricks and impressive choreographies from renowned international kite flying artists.
Amateurs and Pros get a chance to show off their flying skills in different competitions including acrobatic flying in individual categories as well as in teams.
The younger members of the family also get to enjoy special workshops where they’ll learn to create their own kites and then skillfully fly them in the Malaga skies.
If you’re staying at Sunset Beach Club and want to see the Festival, we recommend you jump on the nº110 bus which will take you to Malaga Port. From there you can either walk along the beach to El Palo (it might take you a while) or just jump in a cab to take you there.
