Concert for the Kids Charity ChequeFor the last two years, Sunset Beach Club hotel – and guests who visit – have been actively supporting three children’s charities: The Butterfly Children Charity (Debra Spain) which helps children with EB, a condition which makes skin as fragile as a butterfly wing;  Make-a-Wish Spain which grants magical wishes to children fighting life threatening medical conditions and Barretstown, a unique camp that provides medically endorsed residential programmes of therapeutic recreation for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Come and Celebrate the Arrival of Spring at the Holi Festival of Colours in Benalmádena

Holi Festival of Colours in BenalmadenaNext Sunday the 3rd April Benalmádena celebrates its first official ‘Holi Festival of Colours’, the famous and colourful Hindu festivity which welcomes spring.

The local Hindu community have worked in conjunction with the Benalmadena Town Hall to prepare a fun and authentic event which is open to everyone. Once again, the local authorities have demonstrated their support of the many celebrations and traditions of Benalmadena´s multicultural population 🙂 (more…)

On Friday 8th April 2016 we’re delighted to be hosting, what we hope, will be the charity event of the year, our ‘Concert for the Kids’ featuring two of the Coast’s most popular entertainers: Johnny G. and Ricky Lavazza!

As two of our resident performers here at Sunset Beach Club, Johnny and Ricky have agreed to help us raise funds for our ‘Sunset Breaks’ charity initiative which we started in 2014.

Visit Sohail Castle in Fuengirola: Entrance is Now Free!

The grounds of Sohail Castle in FuengirolaFuengirola’s councillor in charge of Culture recently announced that access and visits to the city’s impressive Sohail Castle will now be free for all visitors – it used to cost 3€ for adults and 2€ for children!

Opening times are between 10:00am and 2:00pm daily from Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays), plenty of time for visitors to walk around this iconic building with centuries of history behind it (see below). (more…)

From the 21st to 24th January, Cirque du Soleil, arguably the best circus experience on the planet will visit Malaga with their touring production titled Varekai. This stunning show first premiered in Montréal (Canada) in April 2002 and has since travelled all over the world delighting spectators wherever they perform.

The word ‘Varekai’ actually means ‘Anywhere’ in the Romani language, the language of the eternal nomads. The show is an “acrobatic tribute to the nomadic soul” and the art of the circus tradition. (more…)
