With the Christmas celebrations over and a brand New Year to look forward to, we’re getting ready for a mad couple of months ‘on the road’ attending a whole hoast of trade shows and events.
The fun begins this weekend as our wedding team heads off to Dublin for the Wedding Journal Show at City West in Dublin. Regarded as one of the best Wedding Shows in Ireland this event starts on Friday 11th January 2013 and remains open until Sunday 13th January.
This year’s show will have 300 exhibitors under one roof, making the planning of your special day a little less stressful 🙂 Here’s a taste of what you’ll find at the show: Reception Venues (Sunset Beach Club included), Wedding cake suppliers, wedding dresses, cars, entertainment, photographers… everything you could think of to celebrate a wonderful wedding.
If you are planning your wedding day and getting married in Spain is an option that interests you, then feel free to stop by our stand (G7) where Inma (Wedding dept) and Melissa (Wedding Planner) will be able to answer all your questions and queries. I love heading in to the centre of Málaga with the family and taking a leisurely stroll around the city’s centre and the new ‘Muelle Uno’ waterfront. Although a little cooler in the winter months, it still makes for a fantastic afternoon out! A few days ago we took a drive in to Málaga to experience the impressive and, now famous, Christmas light display and enjoy a quiet drink on the waterfront.

Looks like all who saw in the New Year with us here at Sunset Beach Club had a great time! The restaurant team did a great job decorating the Oasis Restaurant for the occasion and ensuring that all guests had a fantastic New Year’s Eve experience; Shout out to the team in the kitchens who prepared some delicious food for the occasion!
This year we were lucky enough to get Ricky Lavazza to provide the entertainment for the evening and, as usual, he didn’t disappoint…Judging by the photos, there was a fair bit of boogieing going on!

A few days ago one of our colleagues from the commercial department, Inma, visited a unique and somewhat different Christmas nativity scene in Malaga… one made of plasticine!
The cultural department of Malaga’s town hall is exhibiting this nativity scene – created by the Educa Foundation – over the Christmas period. This wonderful 40 square metre exhibition is made up of more than 200 figures made of plasticine. Apparently they needed 35 kilos of plasticine and three months of hard word to put this masterpiece together.
As you can see in the photos, the attention to detail is unbelievable and certainly breaks the molds of the more traditional Nativity scenes! (more…)

Just a few days ‘til the end of the year and at Sunset Beach Club we’re planning on seeing off 2012 in style!
All our guests and anyone living on the Coast are more than welcome to come and join us for a fantastic evening of delicious food, live music, dancing and a drink or two!
We’ll be starting off the evening with a cocktail reception at 8:30pm followed by a 5 course gala dinner and live music. This year we’ve got a special treat as we’ve got one of the Coast’s top entertainers to provide the entertainment for the evening: Ricky Lavazza! Those of you who have stayed with us before will know Ricky well as he is a featured artist here at Sunset Beach Club all year round. (more…)

Next Wednesday the 26th December 2012 sees the start of MIMA 2012, a special event created especially for children which is sure to keep the little ones amused over the Christmas Holidays.
For 10 days (until the 4th January 2013) the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Málaga will become a true ‘Kids Paradise’, a fun fair tailor made to keep kids and parents amused for hours!
Below the high ceilings of the ‘Palacio de Congresos’ an 8000 m2 area will offer a whole range of experiences (over 60) which combine entertainment, fun, sport, shows and education.
