Keeping warm with the thermal capes...
They say it’s “The Coolest Place in Spain”, literally! With temperatures inside its frozen walls reaching a chilling -14ºC Boal’s Ice Bar in Benalmadena Marina is actually Spain’s first ice bar and an extremely popular destination for tourists and locals looking for a fun and unique experience.
Everything in the bar is made of ice: The walls, the bar, the seats, the sculptures and even some of the glasses (the ones used for shots) are made of ice! And don’t worry of you haven’t packed your fleece… as part of the entrance fee, you are provided with a thermal cape, gloves and socks to keep you warm! (more…)

Monet's 'Marea Baja' in Varengeville
This Autumn, Malaga will once again become a haven for art lovers and tourists looking for an enriching cultural experience. Three of the city’s most popular museums have interesting exhibitions planned over the next few months.

This summer one of our colleagues braved the hot weather to visit Fuengirola’s famous zoo, Bioparc; he tells us it was definitely worth the sacrifice 😉
Who would have thought that you could find such a beautiful spot full of the most fascinating wildlife in the centre of town. Although the park is quite small, don’t let this put you off. The design and layout of the park is spectacular and at times you really do feel as if you are walking through the jungles of Asia or the African Savanna.
In the photos below you’ll see a small sample of the animals and birdlife that inhabit Bioparc. You’ll notice that a lot of effort has gone into creating installations and scenery which mimic the animals natural habitat; the tiger’s area is absolutely amazing!
If you’ve yet to visit Bioparc, we hope these photos will help convince you to visit next time you are on holiday on the Costa del Sol 🙂

Lobo Park (Wolf Park) is located in the true heart of Andalucía (see map below) and is the only wild like park of its kind.
Founded by Daniel Weigend and Alexandra Stieber as a private initiative in 2002, Lobo Park soon opened its doors to the general public in 2004 and has since welcomed thousands of visitors. The founders idea was to provide a natural habitat which would protect the existent wildlife and allow the wolves – and other animals – to live without interference from humans or domestication. Have you ever tried Kayaking? How about the latest water sport craze, SUP (Stand Up Paddle)?
Both of these fun activities are available on many of the Costa del Sol’s beaches and for just €35 per day, you can enjoy a wonderful day out paddling on the Mediterranean whilst experiencing our amazing coastline from a completely different perspective!
Another added benefit is that a day out in a Sea Kayak Explorer or standing on a surf board will certainly help burn off those extra calories many of us tend to put on whilst on holiday 🙂 (more…)
