Winners of our “12 Days of Christmas” Competitions

Over the Christmas period, we ran our “12 Days of Christmas” Calendar on our Facebook page. Each day, guests and fans could click on a new box in the calendar to reveal the prize for that day… We had a total of 12 different prizes, nine of which required entry into a prize draw with the other three offering instant prizes to the first fans to take action.

We have now completed all the draws and here are the winners of each prize (drum roll…..): (more…)

Santa Claus with Kids at Sunset

Santa Claus getting comfortable before giving out the presents!

At 12:00 o’clock on the dot, punctual as ever, Santa Claus made his – much awaited – entrance to the Panorama Bar. The smiles on the kid’s faces said it all and their excitement was evident; probably because of the large bags of presents that Santa and his helpers were carrying! (more…)

Toy Collection for the Children in the Oncology Ward

puzzles and games

The puzzles Sunset Beach Club will be donating

With Christmas creeping up on us, we are reminded that this festive season is a time for giving… At Sunset Beach Club we take pride in collaborating with local charities and helping those in need and this Christmas we have chosen a very special cause…

The Málaga Tourist Board has organised a toy collection campaign amongst its employees, members, collaborators and friends and as Sunset Beach Club is a member, we are happy to take part in this fantastic initiative.

The toys collected will be given to children (aged 1 to 14 years) who are undergoing treatment in the Oncology Ward of the Hospital Materno Infantil inMalaga. All this will be done through AVOI, aMalagabased charity which, thanks to the wide range of activities they organise, makes these children’s stay in hospital a little less traumatic.

The most appropriate toys are all those which are educational in nature such as puzzles, colouring books, books with stickers, soft toys, colouring sets and other similar gifts.

Sunset Beach Club will be donating 51 puzzles and games and many of the staff have brought in toys to contribute to this fantastic cause.

Nobody deserves to be in hospital during the Christmas holidays, much less young children; this is our way of helping bring a smile to their faces during this difficult time.

If you’d like to contribute to the charity by donating toys for the children of the Oncology Ward (it doesn’t have to be anything fancy) you can leave them at the “Patronato de Turismo” offices in Málaga (Plaza del Siglo 2) from Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm; Thursday the 22nd December is the last day!

The toys will be delivered to the Oncology Ward on Christmas Eve 🙂

What do you like most about Sunset Beach Club?

Last week, I spent a pleasant afternoon chatting to Michael and Breda Quinn, loyal guests who have been coming to Sunset Beach Club for over 20 years! Our hotel becomes their home at least 3 times a year (March, June & October) when they grab the Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Málaga and head to Sunset to enjoy a relaxing sunny break at their favourite hotel.

I like to meet guests and hear about their experiences at our hotel; it’s these conversations that provide extremely valuable feedback that helps us in our efforts to continually improve our customer experience.

After spending a few minutes enjoying the jaw-dropping views from their apartment (see photo below) I asked Michael and Breda a simple question:

“What do you like most about Sunset Beach Club?”

In summarised bullet form, here’s what they answered (not necessarily in order of importance):

  •  The location of the hotel is second to none – practically over-looking the sea, with beaches on either side, it’s absolutely perfect!
  • The apartments are a nice size and are always spotless.
  • The staff are so friendly and helpful, they always go out of their way to help, nothing is too much. We always feel at home when we come.
  • The security; we like to feel safe when we travel abroad. The security within the hotel is fantastic and the surrounding areas also make us feel at ease.
  • We don’t have to leave the hotel if we don’t want to; the excellent facilities provide us with all we need such as a supermarket, restaurants and entertainment.

Breathtaking views from the apartment...

I’d like to thank Michael and Breda for taking the time to talk to me and look forward to welcoming them back to Sunset Beach Club again in March!
