Fans of fiery TV Chef, Gordon Ramsay, will be delighted to know that he will be returning to the Costa del Sol for a new television series entitled Costa del Nightmares!
This is Ramsay’s second visit to the Costa del Sol. In 2007 he filmed an episode at ‘La Parra de Burriana’ in Nerja and although he helped turn the business around, the restaurant has since closed down. (more…)

Tomorrow (20th February) is the big day: The start of the Benalmadena Carnival!
The fun starts with the official opening of the Carnival – known as the ‘Pregon’- which takes place in the ‘Plaza de la Mezquita’ at 8:00pm. This marks the start of a fortnight full of colour, creativity and fun with activities and events for all ages.
After months of preparation and rehearsals, the BenalmadenaTown Hall has just presented the full programme of events for the Carnival which take place in Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Pueblo.

From the 24th February to 1st March 2014, Torremolinos will host the 25th edition of the European Dance Championships, an event that each year attracts around 1000 participants from all over Europe.
The extensive programme of events will have almost a dozen competitions, all taking place in one location: The ‘Palacio San Miguel’. This year spectators will be able to enjoy the following competitions: The European Combined (Waltz, tango, pasodoble); the Spanish Combined; the European Tango, Waltz, Pasodoble, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Rock and Artistic Dance Championships.
To complete the vast programme, there will also be two group competitions: The Spanish Dance Championship and the European Dance Groups Championship. (more…)

This Sunday night sees the arrival of the Three Kings, Gaspar, Melchor and Balthazar. Excitement is the operative word as kids (and some adults) eagerly await the arrival of the Three Kings of Orient bearing gifts for all those who have been good over the past year 🙂
The fun begins a little earlier though, as the Three Wise Men delight crowds in the traditional parades which take place in all the major cities, towns and villages on the afternoon of the 5th January.
Families will be lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the gift-bearing Kings sitting comfortably in their spectacular carriages which slowly make their way through the carefully planned routes. Make sure you take a plastic bag to collect all the sweets which will be thrown in to the crowds from the carriages! (more…)

The Cirque du Soleil returns to Malaga next week with their spectacular show, Quidam. Over the course of 4 days – from the 5th to the 8th December 2013 – we’ll be able to enjoy the energy and artistic flair of the world’s most important circus!
Quidam, one of Cirque du Soleil’s classic shows (it debuted in Montreal in April 1996) offers spectators a breathtaking mix of acts including aerial contortion, diabolo, skipping ropes, juggling, clowns and more. Millions of people all over the world have been fortunate enough to see the show and next weekend those of us living or visiting the Costa del Sol will have the chance to experience the magic of Cirque du Soleil 🙂 (more…)

The 4th November 2013 sees the start of the 27th edition of the International Jazz Festival of Malaga. For seven magical days (until the 10th November) the Cervantes Theatre located in Malaga’s historic centre will host a series of concerts featuring top class musicians including Eric Alexander, Dorantes, Enrico Pieranunzi, the Suzette Moncrief Jazz Band or Kroke.
This amazing jazz festival is a great opportunity to get to know and enjoy this music genre through an amazing live musical experience. (more…)
