Tapas with a Touch of Magic: The New Gastronomic Route in Arroyo de la Miel

Tapas con Magia in Arroyo de la MielNext Friday the 24th May sees the start of a new gastronomic route in Arroyo dela Miel: ‘Tapas with Magic’.

For those of you unfamiliar with these gastronomic tapas routes, they are initiatives organised by the local town hall to promote local businesses and encourage local residents and visitors to visit the town centre to enjoy some of the great restaurants and bars.

This first edition of this new tapas route will be held from the 24th May to the 2nd June and, as the name states, has the novelty of including magic shows as part of the experience (Only at weekends).

Approximately twenty bars and restaurants will take part in the event, each offering their very own and unique tapas dish to all visitors; for the – very reasonable – price of €2, you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious tapa and a refreshment (soft drink, beer or glass of wine).  (more…)

Grandma’s Casserole is Back for a Second Serving

La cazuela de la abuelaFollowing the success of the 1st edition of ‘La Cazuela dela Abuela’ (Grandma’s Casserole) in Fuengirola last year, the town hall has decided to organise ‘Part 2’ of this successful gastronomic initiative.

Originally designed to help promote the town’s excellent selection of restaurants – and to help support the restaurant trade in the quieter off-season – this unique event also helps to introduce visitors to more traditional Spanish dishes and stews.

Due to the great success of last year’s event, Grandma’s Casserole has been extended from 10 days to 17 days (from 15th to 3rd March). Both locals and tourists will have more days to sample the delicious and traditional stews and casseroles which will be available in many of the town’s restaurants. A small casserole and a drink (glass of wine, beer or soft drink) will cost just €2 🙂  (more…)
