The official programme for the “Feria” is quite long and exhaustive so we’ve had a look and condensed it to the following list of events and entertainment that we thought might be of interest: (more…)

Candles light up the town
The Luna Mora Festival, a yearly event which is held in the quaint Málaga village of Guaro, starts next Friday the 9th September. For two weekends running, visitors to the town will be treated to the best of andalusí culture: Music, dance, workshops, street performers, a Moorish market and 20,000 candles which light up the town are just some of the treats you can expect when you visit this popular festival.
The towns main auditorium will liven up the Guaro evenings with a selection of concerts by renown Spanish singers: Miguel Poveda, Vanesa Martín (accompanied by the Málaga symphonic orchestra), Mónica Naranjo and local sensation, Pablo Alborán will all be delighting the crowds with their music. After weeks of rumours and speculation, it’s now a done deal… Tom Jones will be performing live at the Puente Romano Tennis Club inMarbellaon Thursday the 18th August!
I’m sure many ladies (and gentlemen), up and down the Coast, will be delighted at the chance to see the one and only Tom Jones live in concert. The beauty of the venue is that it is relatively small – not like those massive football stadiums – so the concert will be more of an “intimate” affair; fans are practically guaranteed a good view of the man himself!
With his powerful voice and trademark moves, the talented Sir Tom Jones (Yes, he was knighted in 2006) is sure to put on an amazing show. Expect to hear all his classic hits such as “It’s not Unusual”, “Delilah”, “Kiss” or “Sex Bomb” as well as songs from his latest album, “Praise & Blame”.
It’s not a cheap concert: Tickets start at 90€ and go up to 250€; however, being in Marbella, in the height of the summer, I don’t think they’ll have too much trouble filling the place up 😉 If you’re interested in attending one of the concerts of the summer, you can buy tickets at the El Corte Inglés stores or online at www.ticketmaster.es .
Doors open at 8:00pm and the concert starts at 10pm. I recommend you get there with plenty of time to spare as parking could be tricky…
