Sea Life Benalmádena is the place to go over the next few weeks if your kids are fans of hit TV show SpongeBob SquarePants!
To celebrate the worldwide premier of the new SpongeBob movie: Sponge Out of Water, Sea Life Benalmádena has been chosen as the only aquarium in Spain to take part in the official launch of the film.
Between the 23rd January and the 24th February 2015, visitors to the aquarium can take part in SpongeBob’s special SpongeHunt. The staff at Sea Life have been busy redecorating the aquarium tanks with all the movie’s characters and there will be special screenings of the film’s official trailer. (more…)

Next weekend (5th, 6th, 7th & 8th February) Torremolinos will host the 21st edition of it’s famous Rockin’ Race Jamboree Festival, four crazy days where the culture and music of the 50’s are the stars of the show.
After twenty successful years, the festival returns next week with an impressive line-up of high level artists who are being flown in from all over the world to perform exclusively at this event. Since the 30th October the Benalmadena Exhibition Centre (Located just in from of the Riviera Hotel) has been featuring a stunning collection of photographs which highlight Benalmadena’s urban evolution over the past 60 years.
The exhibition, named ‘Benalmadena de Ayer y Hoy’ (Benalmadena of Yesterday and Today), features over 100 photos from an important database of images collected and treasured over the last 60 years by local families and with contributions from the Local Library’s archives. (more…)

Christmas is just a few weeks away and we’re ploughing into the Christmas spirit here at Sunset Beach Club. Our decorations are up and we’ve got some great shows lined up in our Moonlight Theatre over the next couple of weeks.
Christmas is a time for giving and we are delighted to collaborate with the following shows which will contribute all proceeds to charity.

On Saturday 6th December, our resident showman, Ricky Lavazza will be presenting ‘Ricky’s Christmas Cracker’. Those of you who know Ricky, or have seen him perform, will know that he gives it all on stage and this Christmas show will be no exception. Benalmadena is getting ready to host one of the most important cultural events of its yearly calendar: Flamenco Week. Playing a key role in the promotion of the town’s Flamenco culture, the event has become one of the main tributes to this universal art in the province of Malaga.
Flamenco Week takes place from the 14th to 21st November in various different cultural and educational centres of Benalmadena. Organised by Malaga’s ‘Peña La Repompa’ in collaboration with Benalmadena Council’s Cultural Department, the main aim of the event is to pay tribute to the art of Flamenco, coinciding with the celebration, on the 16th November, of the anniversary of Flamenco being declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This weekend our Moonlight Bar hosts the 7th edition of Blues at Moonlight, an International Music Festival for lovers of Rockabilly and music with true American roots.
Organised by Active Sound Productions, the event features twenty artists and groups (both national and international) who will take to the stage for a crazy weekend of music and dancing making it one of the most important festivals in this genre’s musical calendar.
This year’s artist list has a strong rockabilly and American music component and features the following musicians and DJ’s from Spain and beyond! (more…)
