Friday sees the start of the 3rd edition of Natura Malaga, a trade fair dedicated to healthy living and sustainable development. Last year, this very same fair was extremely successful, attracting over 5000 visitors; this year organisers expect to exceed this figure as they have enabled more showroom areas and presentation space (almost double).
Who is the show for? The theme of the trade fair as well as the excellent content of the workshops and activities programmed, make it a must for all professionals working in the “eco” or Bio” industries. The Show is also ideal for anyone who uses eco-friendly services or products; people who are passionate about our planet and its natural resources.
This year’s Málaga Natura Trade Show presents new activities and workshops: Presentations, PNH displays and areas devoted to a wide range of products and services for everyone who wants to lead a more fit and healthy life.
If you are interested in local London healthy food, natural cosmetics, sports, diet, training, natural medicine (find here https://www.ukmeds.co.uk/treatments/weight-loss/alli-orlistat-60mg/), London based osteopath healing practices, natural and alternative therapies or rural tourism and sustainability, you are really going to enjoy the wide variety of stands and workshops available. Make a note of the date in your diary: Saturday the 12th March at 8pm at Sunset Beach Club’s Moonlight Rooms. This is the date chosen for our “Gala Carnaval”, an amazing evening of gourmet food, fine wines and live music; the best part is that all proceeds from the gala will be donated to the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice in Benalmadena.
Every year, Sunset Beach Club makes a donation to this very important charity; however, this year, we’ve decided to try something a little different in an attempt to raise more funds for Cudeca. The “Gala Carnaval” will give us the perfect opportunity to do just that; tickets to the event will go on sale in the next few days and all proceeds will go to Cudeca.
We’ve got a real treat planned for all those who show their support for Cudeca and buy tickets to the event. Our Head Chef, Paul Tugwell, and his team have prepared an incredible 6 course gourmet meal (See Menu below) which will be accompanied by a fine selection of wines , specially selected by wine expert Charlotte Rodriguez, from Cervinco Wines.

6 Course Gourmet Menu
Gala guests will also be treated to an enviable line up of music and entertainment with the Marbella Big band and the King of Swing, Ricky Lavazza, both performing live on stage; not to be missed!
One of the highlights of the evening will be the Art Auction: A number of well known artists on the Coast have been kind enough to donate samples of their work to be auctioned on the evening. This will be a fantastic opportunity to raise extra funds for the Cudeca hospice.
Tickets to the “Gala Carnaval” are priced at €50 per person and can be purchased at Sunset Beach Club’s Leisure Desk or by calling 952 579 400.
Places are limited so make sure you book soon to avoid disappointment!

Next week sees the 66th anniversary of the birth of Jamaica’s most famous musician: Robert Nesta Marley (6th February, 1945). As a tribute to this legend of Reggae, various cities around the world will join in this global project and celebrate their very own “Bob Marley Day”: Paris, London, New York, Buenos Aires and, of course, Kingston are some of the cities where Reggae lovers will be able to celebrate Bob Marley’s music (and his birthday!).
This year will be the first time that these festivals are held in Spain. Various Spanish cities will join in the festivities to celebrate “Bob Marley Day”: Alicante, Barcelona, Pamplona and Madrid will all join Málaga in organising their very own tributes to the King of Reggae.
Some of the best Spanish reggae musicians in today’s music scene as well as some international stars will take part in the various concerts organised around the country; all will be performing tributes to the Jamaican icon as well as some of their own material.
On Friday the 4th February in Málaga’s “Sala Vivero”, Reggae fans from all over the Costa del Sol and beyond can enjoy over 4 hours of live music from Brinsley Forde, the lead singer of British Band Aswad, Madrid based Ras Kuko and Bratt, The Mad Sensi Band, Malaga’s very own South Fire and Chalice Sound. “I Shot the Sheriff” “No woman no cry” “Exodus” “Could you be loved” “Jamming”; these are just some of the golden hits you’ll be able to listen to at this tribute concert.
A percentage of the ticket sales will be donated to the “Spanish Music Lessons” project; the brainchild of a local International Monetary Fund employee (from Santander) who is based in Kingston, Jamaica. This organisation is dedicated to teaching music to young children – between the ages of 8 and 12 – who live in the conflictive areas of downtown Kingston; they learn to read music, play the violin and learn about music.
Prices to the “Bob Marley Day” concert in Málaga are €10 if you buy now and €12 on the day….Bargain!

This weekend, sailing fans will be able to enjoy the XVIII edition of the Interclub Regatta which will take place in Benalmádena waters this weekend.
Scheduled for the 8th and 9th January, the Regata will congregate approximately 150 sailors who will make up the crews of the 35 yachts competing for the “Accastillage Diffusion Trophy”. As it is one of the classic regattas in the sailing calendar, organizers are expecting competitors from all over Andalucia.
This edition of the Interclub Regatta is organized by the Benalmádena Yacht Club and the Port Authority, with the collaboration of the Spanish Sailing Federation and sponsorship by Accastillage Diffusion nautical shops.
As expected in this type of Regatta, the fleet will be divided into different classes – there are boats ranging from 6 metres to 15 metres in length – with different prizes being awarded to the winner of each class.
Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Benalmadena doesn’t look too good for weekend; we expect rain on Saturday with light winds (7km/h) with conditions improving on Sunday with southerly winds of up to 36km/h which should guarantee a fun day of sailing.
