Catedral de Malaga al anochecer

Views from the Cathedral’s roof terrace

A trip into Málaga’s city centre is a must for all who visit the Costa del Sol and, as from last month, there’s a new star attraction which you’ll need to add to your list of places to see: The Terraces of Málaga Cathedral.

Opened to the general public last month, these new terraces are located almost fifty metres above sea level and offer visitors stunning views over the city and a great perspective of the famous Alcazaba fortress. If you don’t mind the 200 step climb, this really is a unique experience which allows you to walk over an area of the cathedral that has never been open to the public and where you’ll be able to take spectacular photos of the city.

All visits are guided and carried out in groups of up to 50 people every half an hour. You’ll be taken on a set route which starts in the Cathedral’s north tower, taking you along a system of stairways and walkways fitted with hand rails and special floor-level lighting until you reach the new terrace area overlooking the city and the Cathedrals architectural features.
