Sunset Beach Club is proud to have been selected, once again, as the official hotel partner for the Dream 11 European Cricket Championship (ECC) which takes place at the Cartama Oval from the 23rd September to the 19th October 2024.
This year sees a change of format with the tournament being split into 2 divisions: the Challenger Division and the Premier Division.
The Challenger Division group stage is the first up with 11 teams playing matches from 23rd to 29th September. The winners of this group stage will head to the playoffs which will take place from 30th September to 2nd October.
From the 3rd October to the 14th October fans can enjoy the Premier Division group stage where 20 teams (see image below) will be split into 4 groups.
The winners of each group and the current champions of the ECC23 (England XI) will go head to head in the Premier Division Finals week from the 15th to the 19th October.
The winners and runners-up of the ECC24 Challenger Division will be promoted to the ECC25 Premier Division and the bottom two teams of the ECC24 Premier Division will be relegated for next year’s event.
The T-10 shortened format of these matches – they last 90 minutes – means that cricket fans can enjoy several matches each day.
You can follow the daily scores live HERE
The whole event will be broadcast to a worldwide audience in over 100 countries including BT Sport in the UK and Ireland, Iltalehti in Finland and Fox Australia for all our Aussie friends!
Fans looking to come to the Costa del Sol during the Championship to enjoy the action – and a little sunshine – can book at Sunset Beach Club Hotel from 23rd September to 19th October 2024.
Anyone interested in watching the cricket live can head up to the Cartama Oval during the event. Entrance is free and you can also enjoy a fan village with drinks, food and music with a DJ as well as a kid’s park to keep the little ones busy.
You can also watch the games on the large TV’s in Sunset Beach Club’s Panorama Bar whilst enjoying a cold beer or a glass of vino!
We are booked for a weeks stay the 3rd of Oct to the 10th I’m now worried after reading about the cricket event that’s happening at the same time. We were hoping for a nice quiet week but will it now be full of crickets fans.
Nothing to be worried about Annmarie. The cricket players are out all day playing in Cartama and so are fans. We don’t actually have that many fans staying with us.
