A bonfire during the Night of San Juan…
If you are planning on visiting Benalmadena this week (from the 23rd June) there are a couple of events you won’t want to miss: The Night of San Juan and the San Juan Fair in Arroyo de la Miel.
The Night of San Juan is the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of the summer. All over Spain, people flock to the beaches to enjoy a magical night with bonfires, barbeques, fireworks and lots of food and drink!
Benalmadena is no exception with bonfires being lit all along its beaches. This year, there’s the added attraction of a full piro-musical show (fireworks, music and lasers) which takes place just down the road from the hotel, at the Bil-Bil Castle. (more…)

From the 6th May to the 9th June, the city of Málaga will host Andalucia’s most important gastronomic event: Malaga Gastronomy Festival.
This will be the 6th edition of this festival which is a strategic project for the city of Málaga, its province and Andalucía. The objective of making the city a gastronomic reference is slowly becoming a reality with yearly growth in terms of content for the festival and the level of chefs taking part.
Visitors will be able to enjoy debates, food tasting, movies, photographic exhibitions, workshops, show cooking and lots more. It’s a festival which serves as a showcase to the areas gastronomic heritage and culture attracting food lovers of all ages and with varied tastes. (more…)

You can’t really miss it: More than 200,000m2 of green area in the centre of the town make Parque La Paloma (Paloma Park) one of the largest and most spectacular parks on the Costa del Sol.
Equally ideal for a family day out or a quiet and relaxing walk in the company of a loved one, Paloma Park has become one of Benalmadena’s main attractions. On Saturday 25th May Sunset Beach Club will be celebrating its 4th annual charity gala in aid of three amazing children’s charities: Debra Spain (The Butterfly Children Charity), Barretstown and Make-A-Wish® Spain.
The talented Ricky Lavazza will once again take to the stage for this fun “Disco Fever” show along with special guests, The Abba Experience. From the 10th to 19th May, Benalmadena will host the 5th edition of the Healthy Tapas Route to promote all the virtues of our famous Mediterranean Diet.
After the success of previous years, this unique tapas route is back promising visitors exquisite tapas based on the healthier Mediterranean Diet. Organised by the Association of Local Businesses, the Benalmadena Town Hall, the Healthy Lifestyle Habits Group and the Andalucian Health Service, the Healthy Tapas Route also forms part of Benalmadena’s ‘Healthy City’ programme. On the 10th, 11th and 12th May, Benalmádena Marina will host a new event called “Little Italy”, an opportunity for visitors to get to know Italian culture through its gastronomy, fashion, art and folklore.
Organised by the “Italiano Vero” collective who are dedicated to the promotion of Italian culture throughout Europe, “Little Italy” will offer local residents and visitors a little piece of Italy in our Marina, as well as help raise awareness of the Benalmádena’s spectacular Marina in Italy. Next Friday 5th April sees the start of the 11th edition of Natura Málaga, a trade fair dedicated to healthy living and sustainable development. The fair was a great success last year managing to attract more than 8600 visitors, 150 exhibitors and offering more than 120 parallel activities; success that has turned it into an industry leader in Andalucia.
So who’s the trade fair for? Due to the theme and excellent content of the workshops and activities, any professional who works in the ‘eco’ or ‘bio’ industry can’t miss the event. If you enjoy a warm and hearty casserole during these cooler winter days (well, cooler by Costa del Sol standards) then we highly recommend you take a quick trip down to Fuengirola for their annual ‘Cazuela de la Abuela’ (Grandma’s Casserole) event which starts this weekend.
From the 8th March to the 24th March, locals and visitors to Fuengirola will be able to sample tasty traditional Mediterranean casserole dishes – including yummy ‘lentejas’ and ‘callos’- just like the local’s Grandmas used to make (or still do!). (more…)
