Malaga’s New Pompidou Centre: A Journey Through the History of Contemporary Art 

New Pompidou Centre in MalagaIt’s official, Malaga is now the first city in the world (outside of France) to house a ‘Pop-up’ Pompidou art centre.

This new Contemporary art museum is located within the famous ‘Cube’ structure in Malaga’s Muelle Uno waterfront. Considering the number of visitors passing through its doors during the opening weekend – more than 6000 people – the museum’s success is practically guaranteed.

The new Pompidou Centre offers a unique itinerary which takes visitors on a voyage of discovery through art of the 20th and 21st century. Approximately 90 works of art, selected from the Pompidou Centre’s outstanding collection, line the walls and halls of ‘The Cube’. (more…)

On the 16th April we welcome back the Spanish Association of Barbershop Singers (SABS) for ‘En Armonia’, their annual convention. The weather forecast isn’t looking too good for the weekend but that wont stop the thousands of visitors expected to descend on the Marina for its annual Sea Food Fair (Feria del Marisco). It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the best fresh seafood accompanied by an ice cold beer! 

From  Thursday 19th March – and until Sunday 22nd March – Benalmádena Marina will host the 7th edition of this increasingly popular Sea Food Fair.  (more…)

The Essential Guide to the Caminito del Rey (The World’s Scariest Walkway)

Caminito del Rey MalagaIt’s been described as the world’s scariest – and until recently –  most dangerous walkway in the world and it’s reopening to the public on the 28th March 2015. We are, of course, talking about the Caminito del Rey (King’s Walkway) situated in the Gaitanes  Gorge, about 1 hour  north of Benalmádena.

This breathtaking walkway which, in certain areas, towers 100 metres above the river bed, has been closed to the public since 2001. The 100 year old path was in a precarious condition and local authorities decided to close it after a series of fatal accidents. Although officially closed, it’s remained a favourite attraction for thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies looking for the ultimate experience (see video below for proof!). (more…)
