Paloma Park in Benalmádena has recently received an important award from Tripadvisor, the world’s nº1 travel review site. We’re delighted and proud to announce that our beautiful park located in the centre of the town is now included in Tripadvisor’s 25 Top Parks in Europe (nº24), a great bit of news to start off the busy summer season. 🙂
Tripadvisor is recognised as one the world’s most influential travel sites. In this second edition of its ‘Travellers’ Choice Attractions Awards’– which honors top landmarks and parks throughout Europe – the travellers who leave reviews on Tripadvisor have decided that this 200.000 square metre park is worthy of a place in the Top 25 list and thereby become one of the most recommended parks on the continent! All our regular guests know that every summer our entertainment team prepares fabulous shows for our guests to enjoy in the evenings. This year is no exception and the team have been rehearsing hard for several months preparing for this year’s new show: A Tribute to Grease.

This Thursday the 24th July sees the start of the 2nd edition of Benalmadena’s Great Beer Festival. Once again, this fun event takes place in the Marina and will be open to the public until Sunday the 3rd August.
All visitors to the Beer Festival will have the opportunity to sample the best wheat and barley beer (König Ludwid Weissbier) as well as taste some traditional German dishes including: red and white sausages, roast pork knuckles, pretzels, sauerkraut or flamenkuchen (german pizza). (more…)

Selwo Marina in Benalmádena has to be one of our favourite family attractions. Located just next to Paloma Park this is the only Dolphinarium in Andalucia and offers visitors a spectacular experience which includes dolphin exhibitions, sea lion show, exotic birds show and penguin feeding to name but a few.
As well as the regular programme and shows, Selwo Marina also offers special and unique experiences which allow you to see behind the scenes and interact with its friendly inhabitants. You can choose between the special VIP visit (includes pretty much everything), the dolphin encounter, swimming with sea lions and the VIP penguin visit.

From the 18th to 20th July, the streets of the historic centre of Mijas will host the Luna Mora Festival, a unique event which will light up the picturesque town with 5000 candles!
This is the first time this famous festival – which has been held for the last 18 years in different towns throughout the province of Málaga – is being held in Mijas. Coinciding with the 28th edition of the ‘Villa de Mijas’ theatre festival, visitors to the town will be be treated to a spectacular cultural experience.
The organisers have put together a superb programme of events and activities including: Street performers, Moorish market, dance workshops, musical performances, theatre and lots more! (more…)
It’s probably one of the catchiest songs of the year and certainly one of the songs with most versions on Youtube! ‘Happy’ is the song that gets everyone in a good mood and dancing.
The staff at Sunset Beach Club are a happy bunch so we thought we’d put together our very own video-version of ‘Happy’. It didn’t take too much convincing to get team members onboard with the project and we soon had all the dancing stars who would feature in the video.
We had a professional videographer come in to do the filming (We’re good, but not that good) and dedicated a whole day to stop by each department and film the short clips which would later feature in the video. (more…)
If you have kids and are looking for a fun day out, we recommend you take a trip up to the Donkey Sanctuary (Refugio del Burrito) in Fuente de Piedra (see map below).
A short 45 minute drive from the Coast, the Donkey Sanctuary is located in a traditional Spanish Cortijo and is home to over 70 rescued donkeys. The traditional buildings and charming olive groves provide a safe haven for donkeys and mules rescued from all over Europe. (more…)
