Last Wednesday the 11th December, we celebrated our traditional Staff Christmas Party here at Sunset Beach Club.
This year’s theme was “Brazilian Carnival” and as I am sure you can imagine, it made for some interesting fancy dress costumes and stage performances!!!
After a welcome cocktail with drinks and canapés we all sat down to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner which our chefs and kitchen staff had spent most of the day preparing. The meal was superb but the best part of the evening was yet to come…
Just before midnight – and to the sound of Samba drums – four ‘beautiful’ brazilian dancers took to the stage for a spectacular show with a traditional mix of Samba and impressive Capoeira moves! (See photos below). (more…)

The town of Mijas is probably one of the most popular tourist attractions on the Costa del Sol with thousands of weekly visitors. As from last Saturday, there’s another reason to add this charming town to your list of places to visit: The opening of the new Contemporary Art Centre (CACMijas: Centro de Arte Contemporáneo).
This new art gallery opened to the public with an impressive exhibition made up of 86 works from some of Spain’s greatest artists including, Picasso, Dalí and Miró. This wonderful collection actually goes by the name of “Picasso, amigos y contemporaneous” (Picasso, friends and contemporaries) and is made up of ceramics (43 pieces from Picasso himself and one of the most important collections in the world), lithographs and oil paintings. We recently wrote about the Erotic Tapas Route which was to be held in Fuengirola at the start of November. This fun and ‘cheeky’ event has grown in popularity over that last few years and now attracts thousands of visitors from all over Spain.
As it’s such a unique concept, we like to get our roving reporters on the scene to grab photographic evidence of these ‘erotic’ tapas and see what all the fuss is about. Our intrepid colleague, Inma, enlisted the help of some of her friends and – camera in hand – started her adventure visiting many of the bars and restaurants participating in the Erotic Tapas Route.
