On Saturday 26th May 2018, our Moonlight Theatre will host “Night at the Movies”, a charity concert in aid of three children’s charities.
Presented by one of the Coast’s most popular entertainers (and Sunset Beach Club resident performer), Ricky Lavazza, and with special guest, Karen Danzig, you’re guaranteed a fun evening of fabulous music and dancing to songs from your favourite classic films. Not only will you be treated to a fantastic selection of movie hits but there’s also a ‘surprise’ closing act where Ricky and several volunteers – including Sunset Beach Club staff- will be performing a Full Monty tribute!
The aim of the event is to, once again, raise funds for 3 kid’s charities Sunset Beach Club has been supporting for the last 4 years as part of our ‘Sunset Breaks’ initiative. As a similar event last year, we managed to raise just over €12,000 for these charities and we’ll be hoping to surpass this figure at this year’s concert.
The charities supported, Make-A-Wish® Spain, Barretstown and Debra Spain all have a theme in common, creating special memories for children battling serious illness.
During the show’s interval, there will be a raffle with fantastic prizes up for grabs including the following:
- 2 nights accommodation and breakfast in a Deluxe Junior Suite at Sunset Beach Club
- €60 voucher to use in the Oasis Restaurant at Sunset Beach Club
- 2 nights accommodation and breakfast at La Cala Resort + 90 minute Spa Session
- 2 return flights to the UK with Jet 2
- 4 Green fees at La Cala Golf
- A family photo shoot with Dougie Farrelly
- Breakfast for 2 at Scoffers with Ricky Lavazza
- Indian cookery lesson at home for 2 people
- 3 months membership at Boyd’s Fitness
- A set of the latest GHD hair straighteners
- And lots, lots more!
Tickets are just €10 per person and all proceeds go to the above-mentioned charities. You can buy your tickets at the Sunset Beach Club Leisure Desk located on the 6th floor of the hotel – Don’t leave it too long as it sold out last year 🙂
Doors to the Moonlight Theatre open at 8:00pm on Saturday 26th May and the show starts at 9:00pm!
Here’s a little more information about the three charities we’re supporting at this event:
Butterfly Children Charity (DEBRA Spain)
The Butterfly Children Charity helps children with EB, a condition which makes skin as fragile as a butterfly wing. EB sufferers require painful daily wound care routines and parents are generally the sole carers.
Barretstown
Founded in 1994 by Hollywood actor, Paul Newman, Barretstown (located in Co. Kildare, Ireland) is a unique camp that provides medically endorsed residential programmes of therapeutic recreation for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Children travel to Barretstown from all over Europe free of charge.
Make-A-Wish® Spain
Make-A-Wish® Spain grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening medical conditions. These once in a lifetime experiences provide them with the strength to keep on with the necessary medical treatments that can help them defeat their diseases.
