We’re in for an exciting 4 weeks here at Sunset Beach Club as we once again welcome Cricket Teams from all over Europe as the Official Hotel partners of the European Cricket League.
Cricket fans will be able to enjoy this international club tournament which takes place over a 4-week period and which this year features 35 teams from across Europe, including two teams from England.
The European Cricket League takes place from the 26th February to the 22nd March and consists of an initial 3 weeks of group matches and a final four-day championship week (see image below). The whole event takes place at the impressive Cartama Oval, located in the Guadalhorce Valley and approximately 30 30-minute drive from Sunset Beach Club.
The initial group stage matches start on Monday 26th February. All clubs will be divided into 7 groups, each with 5 teams. The winner of each group goes through to the championship week which takes place from the 18th to the 22nd March. The European Cricket League will be played in a T10 format with each game lasting approximately 90 minutes. Each team plays a single innings and are limited to a maximum of ten overs.
With 35 of the best cricket teams visiting the Costa del Sol over the next few weeks, you’ll also get to see some of the sport’s biggest names in action!
All games will also be streamed live online and can be watched on the large screens in Sunset Beach Club’s Panorama Bar.
Fans can enjoy free entrance to all live games at the Cartama Oval during the tournament. Onsite facilities include a fan village with drinks, food and music and a kiddies playground for the younger family members.
