Our Vision for 2027: Sunset Beach Club’s 40th Anniversary
In two years time – by 6th April 2027 – Sunset Beach Club will celebrate 40 years as one of the Costa del Sol’s most emblematic hotels.
This is a massive milestone and one that deserves some special celebrations. In an effort to ensure that our hotel remains at the forefront of the industry here in the south of Spain, and following recent modernization of our main public areas over the last two Winters, we have now embarked on a two year journey to refurbish and redecorate our apartments.
Below you will find a brief summary of the work completed to date and the projects we’ll be working on leading up to 2027 and our 40th anniversary.

Key Facilities | Improvements completed between 2023-2024
Our main Reception, Panorama Bar, Oasis Restaurant and La Terraza Restaurant, have all been completely renovated over the last two Winter seasons. The swimming pool area has also been refreshed with a new floor colour, installation of additional sunshades and beds, the renovation of the Tikki pool bar, and the addition of the popular Food Truck & Kanaloa Terrace.
Prime Studio-Apartments Refurbishments | Completion due March 2025
By the end of February 2025, all 222 of our Prime Studio-Apartments will have been completely refurbished. The stunning sea views aren’t the only thing you’ll have to look forward to as they will have had a complete ‘facelift’, including new lounge & terrace furniture and soft furnishings and decorations.

2 bedroom Penthouses Refurbishment is underway | Completion due April 2026
Another of the apartment types we’ll be working on this winter are the 2-bedroom penthouses. As you can see in the rendered images below, they are going to look fantastic with a new paint colour, soft furnishings, terrace furniture and sofa!
Interior Studio-Apartments Refurbishment commenced Winter 2024 | Completion due by 2027
This winter we are also working on 57 of our Interior Studio-Apartments which will also be completed by the end of February 2025. These apartments will have new walk in showers, sofa bed, terrace furniture and paint. The remaining 25 interiors will be completed before the 2027 deadline.
Our Studio-Apartments (mountain view) will undergo the same refurbishment next Winter 2025-26.

New Soft Furnishings in Main room types | Completion due April 2026
Our 1 bedroom Family Apartments, XL Apartments, Junior Suites, Garden Suites and Studios will also receive a splash of colour, with new curtains, bedspreads and cushions. This work is already well underway, and new soft furnishings should be in place by the end of April 2026.
New Furnishings and/or Refurbishment of remaining Rooms | Completion due 2027
As we programme the works to be carried out in the remaining apartments in 2026/27, we’ll update this page with timelines and images of what the units will look like.
Please note that the work to be carried out to refurbish the remaining apartments involves minimal amounts of building work – it is mostly replacement of soft furnishings and repainting – so guests will not be affected by noise from these works.
RECENT AND UPCOMING FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS
New-Look Moonlight Bar | Completed by Easter 2025
This is one of the hotel’s most popular facilities, particularly in Summer when we host free shows and acts for all the family to enjoy. Our Moonlight Bar has also received a makeover this winter, and now boasts brighter walls, and fancy bar lighting. We are also in the process of adding new bathrooms with direct access from inside the Moonlight Bar, which will be ready for Easter 2025.
Sunset Plaza | Completion due by end February 2025
One of the highlights of our new look leading up to the 40 year anniversary will be ‘Sunset Plaza’ our very own shopping and leisure centre within the hotel. This new area will encompass all our shops and services located on the first floor of the building (supermarket, gym, shops, hair & beauty, Oasis Restaurant & La Terraza) to bring all these facilities together to modernize this area of the hotel, and to provide an enhanced experience for our guests. The first floor toilets will also be renovated.
New Central Lifts | Completion due by March 2025
We have now completed work on the second central lift, and by the end of February, all three central lifts will be ready. These new lifts have new intelligent programming which makes them more efficient and helps to reduce wait times.
