Al Fresco Lifestyle

In April/May the beach bars start to re-open after an extended Winter break, and the weather is perfect for relaxing in an informal beach restaurant or street café.  Local delicacies include "boquerones fritos" (deep fried white anchovies), "calamares" (squid), "almejas" (clams, usually served with plenty of white wine and garlic sauce), "gambas pil-pil" (prawns in olive oil with garlic and chillies) and of course "paella".  Cold beer, white wine or sangría offer the ideal accompaniment.

Sunset Beach Club's poolside Tikki Bar opens in April, and Salitos, our seafront chillout bar, starts serving cocktails and refreshments from May.

This is also a great time of year to go for a stroll along to Benalmadena Marina, go hiking in one of the nearby walking routes, visit local markets, or book excursions to Andalucia cities or if you fancy a game of golf, why not book some tee times through our Leisure Desk during your stay?

Entertainment for all the family!

Please visit our online Events Calendar to see sample Spring programmes.

If you are visiting during Easter, you have to visit the famous "Semana Santa" (Easter) religious processions. You'll experience a unique celebration, where thousands of Spanish people take to the streets, many barefoot and dressed as Nazarenes. Our leisure desk can inform you about the best processions, and how & when to get there.

From May our Moonlight Bar will open between 3-5 nights with the best tribute bands on the Costa del Sol. Please check our Events Calendar to check what's on during your stay. FREE Minidisco and Cinema sessions for children and Music shows will keep entertained the whole family whilst they are on holidays at Sunset Beach Club.
